The electric arc furnaces (EAF) of SMS Concast set new standards for productivity, product quality as well as energy and material efficiency. State-of-the-art process technology make it possible to produce a melt with an exact analysis of the steel.
Depending on customer requirements, the electric arc furnaces are charged with different input materials (e.g. scrap metal, sponge iron, HBI or up to 50% hot metal). This guarantees highest flexibility.
Large-size furnace with high input of electrical and chemical energy, so called UHCP (Ultra-High Chemical Power), provide top performance indexes, maximum efficiency with minimum consumption.
The CONSO-technology is a special feature for an economic melting process. Supersonic oxygen injectors in the furnace increase productivity significantly while reducing production costs.
And of course, our electric arc furnaces with their extraction and recovery techniques meet highest environmental regulations and contribute to resource preservation in steel production.
