Due to more stringent quality requirements, end-users demand full accountability, including complete product histories. Moreover steel producers are forced to optimise their operation in respect of quality and cost-effectiveness.

Therefore successful product tracking is essential which is performed by SMS Concast Marking Machine (ConMark) and Optical Product Recognition system (OPR). This system, which is a stand-alone configuration with full Level 2 integration, ensures a sharp, clear and readable marking and recognition of long or flat products.

Important is the fact that corrosion, dust, impact by collision do not compromise the readability and marking itself has no negative impact on rolling.
