SMS Concast combines its wide experience in metallurgy with its extensive knowledge of all aspects of process control and quality assurance, in order to provide a large scope of products in the area of minimills.

All SMS Concast automation tools (level 1 and 2) are produced in-house and customised. They provide an integrated information system, that enables process monitoring and management with state-of-the-art mathematical models as well as plant-wide data collection and production coordination.

In order to improve quality and efficiency of steel production, we use applications dedicated and tailored to the needs of the various functional units and the users running a steel plant.




Among others special features are:

  • Basket Charging Optimisation Model for scrap yard
  • Dynamic Melting Profiles for EAF
  • Least-Cost Recipe Addition Model  for Ladle Furnace
  • Element Fading Model for Vacuum Degasser
